Join the Knox Young Professionals for Handshakes & Headshots on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, from 7-9 a.m. at Happy Bean Coffee Shop, 221 S. Main St., Mount Vernon. This networking event offers a great opportunity for young professionals aged 21–45 to connect, exchange ideas, and expand their professional circles in a relaxed, coffeehouse atmosphere. Attendees are encouraged to bring business cards, enjoy a morning coffee, and take advantage of professional headshot sessions for just $20 for two photos. The event is free to attend, with beverages available for purchase. Organized by the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, this morning meet-up combines community, career growth, and caffeine in one productive and welcoming setting.
"A Night With Nashville" Benefit Concert
Mount Vernon Nazarene University will present A Night With Nashville: Benefiting Cougar Baseball with the Hits on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 8-10 p.m. in Thorne Performance Hall at the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Fine Arts Center, 800 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon. This Homecoming & Family Weekend event will feature Grammy-nominated songwriters Brian White ’79, Karyn Williams, and Jesse Reeves, performing their chart-topping hits and sharing the stories behind them. Their collective songwriting credits include works for Chris Tomlin, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, and more. Tickets are $30, with proceeds benefiting MVNU’s On Deck Campaign for Cougar Baseball. Earlier that day, White will lead a free songwriting workshop at 2:30 p.m. in Thorne Performance Hall.
