The Career & Technology Education Centers (C-TEC) of Licking County will host a community open house on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at its main campus at 150 Price Road in Newark.

The event will feature tours of C-TEC's postsecondary and high school labs, interactive exhibits with business and industry partners, a job fair, food trucks, and door prizes for attendees.

Open to students, families, and community members, the open house aims to showcase how C-TEC prepares learners for high-demand technical and trade careers. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet instructors, explore classrooms, and connect directly with employers who support workforce development across the region.

With the majority of tomorrow's jobs requiring some form of technical training, programs like C-TEC's offer students the skills needed to transition seamlessly into the workforce or pursue a two- or four-year college degree.

"C-TEC is where thousands of high school students and adults in central Ohio have gained the knowledge, training, leadership skills and confidence for successful and productive futures," the school website reads. "For over 40 years, we have continually provided value for our students, employers and the economy of Licking and surrounding counties. We continue to be a valuable part of the educational and economic health of our community."

C-TEC’s Postsecondary Center serves more than 4,000 students annually and operates as an approved provider within the University System of Ohio. Program offerings span a wide range of high-demand fields, including medical coding, pharmacy technician training, machining, computer and office technology, welding, and many others. Through recent partnerships with area colleges, select adult education programs now offer college credit opportunities, further enhancing pathways to advanced credentials and career advancement.
