Each year, United Way collaborates with nonprofit agencies to provide crucial funding for education, healthy living, and financial stability initiatives in Knox County.
In 2025, local nonprofits requested over $916,000 in funding. United Way managed to distribute $641,000 to address immediate community needs. The organization aims to raise $1.1 million this year, with $650,000 allocated for direct investment in agencies like the Salvation Army and YMCA Mt. Vernon. United Way's funding is directed through three community pillars: Education focuses on early literacy and life-skill development; Healthy Living promotes wellness and preventive care; Financial Stability offers aid and education for independence.

To meet current needs, United Way seeks to raise $650,000 by December 31, 2025.
