The Homer Public Library has announced a series of events scheduled for October 2025. The activities cater to various interests and age groups, ranging from storytime sessions to craft workshops.
Storytime sessions will be held every Wednesday at 10:00 am throughout the month. Miss Shaunta will lead these sessions, which are designed for children from birth to preschool age.
On Friday, October 3rd, at 10:00 am, the library will host a Recipe Exchange focusing on tailgate foods. Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite recipes and dishes for others to taste. Table service and drinks will be provided.
The Ukulele Association of Homer invites enthusiasts to join them on Thursday, October 9th and 23rd at 5:00 pm for practice sessions. These gatherings offer an opportunity for beginners to receive free lessons from an experienced player.
A Medicare Discussion led by Jason Barber of TLC Insurance Group is set for Tuesday, October 14th at 11:00 am. This session aims to provide insights into Medicare and address common questions.
Crafting enthusiasts can participate in a mystery bracelet craft on the same day at 2:00 pm. Registration is required as all supplies are provided. Later that day, teens can engage in creating DIY Gilded Faux Insect Taxidermy at 5:30 pm.
Miss Shaunta will also lead a homeschool program themed "All About Weather" on Thursday, October 16th at 10:00 am. This session includes various learning activities tailored for homeschoolers.
Teen Movie & Pizza Night is scheduled for Thursday, October 16th at 5:00 pm with a screening of "The Others" (2001). Attendees must register by Wednesday, October 15th.
Brunch and a Movie will take place on Friday, October 17th at 10:00 am featuring "Miracle at Manchester" (2022). Participants need to RSVP by Thursday, October 16th.
The Community of Women gathering is planned for Tuesday, October 21st at 2:00 pm. This informal meeting encourages women to share ideas and support each other through life's challenges.
Teen Paint Night follows on the same day at 5:30 pm where participants can paint a creepy apple with all supplies provided upon registration.
On Friday, October 24th at noon, Licking County Aging will offer a meal followed by an exercise program led by Margie from Y on the Fly. Reservations can be made by calling the library or Licking County Aging directly.
An informal discussion hosted by the Homer Historical Society about local history is set for later that day at 2:00 pm in the meeting room.
Trick-or-Treating is available on Thursday, October 30th at the library with treat bags for kids and refreshments for adults starting at 5:00 pm.
Finally, the Book Club meets on Friday, October 31st at 11:00 am to discuss "Her New Story" by Laura Bradford. Copies can be reserved through Amie Hatfield, Director of Homer Public Library.
