Mount Vernon Nazarene University's women's volleyball team, ranked 15th nationally, achieved a victory against Huntington University on Wednesday. The match took place at Ariel Arena, where the Lady Cougars secured a 3-0 sweep.
Huntington initially led in the first set, but MVNU turned the game around to win 25-22. They continued their momentum by winning the second set 25-23 and completed the sweep with a 25-21 win in the third set. This defeat marked only the second loss of the season for Huntington.
Morgan Schlabach, a freshman, delivered an impressive performance with 13 kills and 20 digs. Evelyn Brown also stood out with 12 kills and an impressive .706 hitting percentage. Libby Evanshine contributed with 11 kills and seven digs, while Jaelyn Tang added 18 digs and six assists. Reagan Nuss excelled as well, finishing with 40 assists, five digs, and four kills.
Looking ahead, MVNU is scheduled to face Marian University in Indianapolis on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
