Patty E. Hauger of Mount Vernon has passed away

Patty E. Hauger, age 82, of Mount Vernon, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Country Club Retirement Campus, surrounded by family.

She was born on July 5, 1943, in Vienna, West Virginia to Violet Chichester.

With a heart of gold, Patty was an amazing mother, caretaker to others, confidante and beloved friend to many. She emitted special love and joy, finding good in everyone. She was a homemaker for most of her life and cleaned homes in the community. She loved gardening, tending to pets, cooking special recipes, and sewing. She attended services with her husband and became a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Patty is survived by her three daughters, Allison Wilson, Evelyn (James) Borders and Teresa Hague (Jeff Johnson); nine grandchildren, Adam, Arika, Brett, Danielle, Andrea, Jenna, Zoe, Zack, Randy; eighteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl (Janet) Chichester and Roy (Diane) Bauman; sisters, Debe (Bruce)Clark, Peggy (Ray) Rector, Tracey (Ed) Harry, Sue (Randy) Saiter; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother; step-father, Wilbur Bauman; the father of her children, Thomas A. Mays; husband, Harold W. Hauger; brothers, Robert Chichester and Henry Bauman; a sister, Betty Nesselrode; and a son-in-law, Terry Hague.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 3:00 pm. Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 14764 Wooster Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio. There will be a dinner after the service in the church hall. All are welcome. Patty will be missed immensely.
