Lady Cougars start season strong at IWU Twilight Meet

Women's Cross Country Team at Mount Vernon Nazarene University | Mount Vernon Nazarene University

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's cross-country team began their season at the IWU Twilight Meet, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University on September 5. The Lady Cougars finished seventh out of 13 teams, scoring 207 points. Taylor University secured first place in the meet.

The results for MVNU were as follows: Tammy Liplin placed 26th with a time of 23:40, Louisa Hallabrin came in 27th at 23:42, and Ashley Yoder finished 35th with a time of 23:56.70. Other notable finishes included Raelyn Barrett at 69th and Julia Kanagy at 79th.

Coach Taylor commented on the performance, saying, "Tonight kicked off the 20th season for MVNU cross country since its rebirth in the early 2000s. I was really happy to see where our women finished in the race. They beat a couple other teams who were also receiving votes, which will help us in the national polls."

The Lady Cougars are set to compete next at the All-Ohio Meet hosted by Cedarville University on September 19.
