MVNU men's soccer triumphs over Rochester Christian with strong second-half performance

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team secured a decisive 4-0 win against Rochester Christian University at CH4 Stadium on Wednesday, September 3. The Cougars, now with a record of 3-0-1, dominated the second half after a goalless first period.

Maxi Schwalk opened the scoring for MVNU in the 51st minute with his first career goal, assisted by Baba Sarr. Shortly after, Sarr provided another assist to Miguel Bello, doubling the lead. Kevin Ngula added to the tally with his inaugural goal in the 65th minute. Luka Vojinovic sealed the victory with his third goal of the season in the 71st minute.

Goalkeeper Brayden Pierson achieved his third shutout of the season, making five saves. MVNU outshot their opponents 27-16 and had a significant advantage with 16 shots on target compared to Rochester's five.

Looking ahead, MVNU will face West Virginia Tech in Montgomery on Saturday, September 6, at 7:00 p.m.
