The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team ended their match against Olivet Nazarene University in a 2-2 draw on Saturday, August 30, in Bourbonnais, Illinois. The game remained scoreless during the first half, but action picked up in the second half with both teams exchanging goals.
Adrian Kang Hagman of Olivet Nazarene scored the opening goal at the 53rd minute. MVNU responded swiftly with Miguel Bello netting an unassisted goal four minutes later to level the score. Olivet's Caleb Mariotti regained the lead for his team in the 58th minute. However, MVNU's Jack Reagor quickly equalized again with his first career goal just two minutes later.
Brayden Pierson was active in goal for MVNU, making eight saves over the course of the match. The Cougars took 16 shots, seven of which were on target. Meanwhile, Olivet had 19 shots with 11 on target.
Looking ahead, MVNU will host Rochester Christian from Michigan at CH4 Stadium on Wednesday, September 3, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
