Danville commenced its 2025 football season with a decisive victory on Friday night, defeating Worthington Christian 35-13 in an away game. The team showcased a strong rushing attack and solid defense.
According to the match report, the Blue Devils focused on their ground game, executing 45 carries for 279 yards and four touchdowns. They also added 122 yards and another touchdown through passing. Running back Cyren Wallace was instrumental in this effort, amassing 187 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries. He further contributed by catching four passes for 29 yards, totaling 216 all-purpose yards.
Quarterback Nolan Ridgway complemented the offensive strategy by completing passes for 122 yards and one touchdown while also rushing for an additional 25 yards. Ridgway's versatility extended to special teams, where he successfully made a point-after attempt and averaged 49.5 yards per punt.
Wide receiver Wesley Payne played a dual role, making significant contributions both offensively and defensively. Payne recorded three receptions for 33 yards, returned two punts for another 33 yards, and secured a crucial interception.
