The Knox County Community Health Center (KCCHC) is marking National Health Center Week 2025 with a Hawaiian-themed pool party at Hiawatha Water Park in Mount Vernon. The event, set for Friday, August 8th from 4:30 pm until closing, will offer free admission, prize raffles, and complimentary snacks.

This year's celebration, organized by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), highlights "America’s Health Centers Celebrating 60 Years of Improving our Nation’s Health." Across the country, Community Health Centers are hosting events such as resource fairs and health screenings.

KCCHC currently serves around 10,000 patients across six locations in Mount Vernon and Danville. The center provides counseling, dental, and medical services to all individuals regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.

Health Center CEO Shauna Schacht said, "This year’s celebration is especially meaningful as we recognize 60 years of Community Health Centers improving lives across the nation. We’re proud to be part of that legacy here in Knox County."

Nationwide, over 1,500 Community Health Centers serve a diverse population including uninsured individuals, people living in poverty, rural residents, children, and veterans.
