August 2025 will see a variety of events taking place, offering opportunities for community engagement and learning. On Friday, August 1st at 10:00 am, a Recipe Exchange event invites participants to bring their favorite tomato dish along with the recipe. Guests are welcome to join as taste testers without bringing a dish. Drinks and table service will be provided.
The Ukulele Association of Homer will meet on Thursday, August 14th and August 28th at 5:00 pm. This gathering is for ukulele enthusiasts to practice and share their passion for the instrument. An experienced player will offer free lessons, and ukuleles are available for lending.
On Friday, August 15th at 10:00 am, there will be a Brunch and a Movie event featuring "55 Steps" (2017). Registration is required by Thursday, August 14th at 5 pm.
A Community of Women meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 19th at 2:00 pm. This informal gathering aims to foster support and idea-sharing among women facing life's challenges.
Friday, August 22nd offers two events: Licking County Aging and Y on the Fly at noon, providing a meal followed by an exercise program led by Margie; reservations can be made by calling the library or the provided number. Later that day at 2:00 pm, the Homer Historical Society will host a discussion on local history where attendees can bring items for "show and tell."
The month concludes with a Book Club meeting on Friday, August 29th at 11:00 am to discuss "Where Butterflies Wander" by Suzanne Redfearn. Copies can be reserved through the library.
