The 176th Knox County Fair has officially opened its gates in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and the excitement is just getting started. Running through July 26, this summer tradition is already drawing crowds with its festive atmosphere, thrilling competitions, and family-friendly entertainment.
With the theme Christmas in July, the fairgrounds at 601 Fairgrounds Road are decked out for a week of celebration, and the lineup from today onward promises nonstop fun.
At 1 o'clock this afternoon, catch the OHHA Harness Racing at the Energy Cooperative Grandstand and enjoy the thrill of watching skilled drivers and powerful horses in action. Adding a playful twist to the afternoon, the Wiener Dog Races will also take place at 1 p.m.. Sponsored by BHD Farms, these pint-sized pups dashed across the track to the delight of cheering crowds.
Tomorrow, July 22, kicks off with a double dose of adrenaline. At 7 p.m., the Energy Cooperative Grandstand hosts the Diamond J Rodeo, followed by an after-rodeo party with Luke Watson at 8:30 p.m. Meanwhile, motocross fans can catch the Washed Up Promotions race on the Upper Track at 7 p.m. Over at the Midway Stage, the Celtic Fiddler of County Knox performs from 5 p.m.to 7 p.m., adding a lively soundtrack to the evening.
Wednesday, July 23, brings the roar of engines with the Rough Truck event at 7 p.m. in the Grandstand. For a musical twist, head to the Midway Stage at 5 p.m. to catch Elvis’ Lost Brother, a tribute act that’s sure to entertain.
Thursday, July 24, is packed with vintage charm and high-octane action. The Antique Tractor Parade rolls through at 4:0 p.m., followed by the Full Tilt Demolition Derby at 7 p.m. in the Grandstand. Simultaneously, the Upper Track hosts the Antique Tractor Pull. Kids and dinosaur fans won’t want to miss Dino Roar shows next to the Midway Stage at 2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m.
Friday, July 25 features the Monster Truck event at 7 p.m. in the Grandstand, where massive machines defy gravity with jaw-dropping stunts. Over at the Midway Stage, it’s a royal affair with a Princess Party featuring Elsa & Anna from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, July 26, wraps up the fair with a full day of family fun. The Kids Games begin at 10 p.m., followed by a Gift Card Drawing at noon. The evening closes with the OSTPA Truck and Tractor Pull at 7 p.m.. Earlier in the day, the Midway Stage hosts a Youth Pedal Tractor Pull at 1 p.m. and a Princess Party with Moana & Rapunzel from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Admission is just $10, with free entry for kids 8 and under, and parking is always free. All events are included with admission, making it easy for families to enjoy everything the fair has to offer.
