The Mount Vernon Music and Arts Festival is set to host the annual Flower Show at The Living Center, located at 201 North Main Street in Mount Vernon, from August 8 to 10. Organized by the Knox County Garden Clubs, with Jo Ann Graham and Audrey Spearman as chairwomen, the event welcomes entries from Knox County residents and members of the local garden clubs. Non-residents can also participate by reserving a spot through (740) 397-5156 by August 2.

Participants can submit their entries on Friday, August 8, between 8:00 and 11:00 am. Judging will follow the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs Standard System and will begin at 1:00 pm on the same day. Only show participants are allowed during judging, and decisions made by judges are final.

The flower show is open to the public on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Saturday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. A meeting at 4:00 pm on Sunday will announce various awards including the People's Choice Award and winners of gift certificates from Forster's Seeds of Quality.

Workshops for participants are scheduled at The Living Center. The first workshop for artistic flower entrants is on July 9 at 1:00 pm, while horticulture category entrants have a session on July 30 at the same time. The theme for this year's show is "Treasures from the Attic," with no experience required for entry.
