This July, Homer Public Library will host a dynamic lineup of activities for its Teen and Children's Summer Reading Programs.

Teens can start their summer reading journey with Bookopoly, a literary take on the classic board game that runs through July 18, offering prizes for those who complete their reading challenges. The program continues with creative workshops like Bouquet Shadow Drawings on July 8, allowing teens to blend art and self-expression. On July 15, they'll enjoy an eco-conscious twist on a nostalgic favorite during a Shrinky Dinks session led by Andrea from Licking County Recycling.

Adding a cinematic flair to the experience, the teen program wraps up with Movie & Pizza Night on July 17. Attendees will watch Wes Anderson’s animated gem Fantastic Mr. Fox, sharing laughs and slices in a laid-back, creative atmosphere perfect for summer bonding.

Meanwhile, children get their reading challenge through Book Bingo, running from June 11 to July 16, where they can earn rewards for logging their reading milestones. Each Wednesday brings a new adventure: a vibrant Tie Dye Party kicks off the month on July 2, followed by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra Instrument Petting Zoo on July 9, offering a hands-on exploration of musical instruments.

The children’s program concludes on July 16 with Messtival, a celebration paired with a Picnic Lunch, rounding out a season of color, sound, and imagination.
