The local library is offering a series of free programs and activities from June 23 to June 27, 2025. These events are open to the public and cater to various age groups.
On Monday, June 23, teens in grades 6-12 can participate in a Tie Dye Fun Day from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the main library's back parking lot. For younger children in grades K-3, Colorful Creatures crafts will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Registration is required for this event by visiting the Children's Floor or calling the library.
A Nonfiction Book Discussion on "The Feather Thief" by Kirk Wallace Johnson is scheduled for Monday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Books are available at the library or online.
Tuesday's events include Storytime sessions for children aged 24 months and up at the main library and family storytimes at both Gambier and Fredericktown Community Libraries. Additionally, The Artful Dodgers! Science Art session will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., requiring registration.
In Danville, there will be a book discussion on "Remains of the Day" by Kazuo Ishiguro on Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., while Main Movie Night will feature "Harold and the Purple Crayon" starting at 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday's highlights include special presentations by The Columbus Zoo at Gambier and Fredericktown locations, providing educational insights into animal habitats. Brandon Weis will also present his hiking experiences across America's remote trails from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Thursday features another Columbus Zoo presentation at Mount Vernon, a Knox County Conversation roundtable with soup sharing memories of travels, and an Adult Craft and Conversation session in the afternoon.
Finally, Friday concludes with an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., encouraging community members to donate blood.
