Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) has announced that SonFest 2025 will be held on Saturday, September 20, in the newly renovated R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium. This change ensures that the Christian music festival will proceed regardless of weather conditions.

According to a press release by MVNU, the 2025 SonFest music festival will feature performances by Elevation Rhythm, John Mark McMillan, Citizens, and Rock City Worship, with additional artists to be announced. The event is set to offer a blend of worship, alternative rock, and Christian music.

Elevation Rhythm serves as the youth music ministry of Elevation Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. John Mark McMillan is recognized as a Platinum-certified songwriter noted for his poetic lyrics and diverse musical style. Citizens, originating from Seattle in 2011, are known for their dynamic performances and faith-based lyrics. Rock City Worship hails from Columbus and is acknowledged for its regional influence and leadership in worship.

Tickets for the event are available at mvnu.edu/sonfest. General admission costs $40; VIP admission is priced at $75 and includes early entry along with a meet-and-greet opportunity. Group rates (for 10 to 50 tickets) and tickets for children aged 4–10 are offered at $25; children aged 3 and under can attend free if seated on a lap. While concert attendance requires a ticket, outdoor activities such as food trucks and vendor tents will be accessible to the public without charge. A comprehensive schedule will be released soon, with updates available on mvnu.edu/sonfest or via social media @mvnu1968.

MVNU was established in 1968 as a Christian liberal arts college located in central Ohio, affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene. Rooted in Wesleyan-Arminian theology, MVNU integrates academic pursuits with spiritual development to promote Christ-centered leadership, learning, and service. The university's main campus spans 327 acres and accommodates approximately 2,100 students from various states and countries. The institution boasts representation from over 40 Christian denominations while maintaining a student-to-faculty ratio of 13:1, supporting more than 30 sports teams and offering substantial financial aid assistance.
