WNZR 90.9 FM, a radio ministry of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, has announced the successful completion of its annual fundraiser, Lifeline 2025. The event, which took place from March 26 to March 31, surpassed its goal of $75,000 by raising a total of $85,441.
The station was supported by 249 ministry partners, including 40 first-time donors and eight increased pledges. WNZR Station Manager Marcy Rinehart expressed gratitude for the community's support: "The support and encouragement of Lifeline 2025 is so appreciated," she said. "The partnership with our listeners and donors allows WNZR to broadcast and minister to the community throughout the year."
Funds raised will aid in staffing positions such as a full-time Assistant Station Manager and Office Manager, as well as supporting student leadership roles for summer and the 2025-26 academic year. Additionally, the funds will be used for equipment upgrades, website hosting, online music streaming fees, and maintaining remote vehicle operations.
Xander DeVault, a sophomore majoring in Communication & Media (Digital Media), emphasized the importance of donor support: "As believers, we can continue to minister and encourage our local community because of their unwavering support," he said.
This year's theme was "Made For These Days," inspired by Jeremy Camp's song. Ephesians 2:10 served as the theme verse for Lifeline 2025. Rinehart commented on this theme: "I believe that God is calling us to work together to spread His message of hope to others."
Official fundraising days included March 27, 28, and 31. Special events such as the Lifeline Choice Challenge offered incentives like gift certificates for pledges over $150. On Matching Challenge Day alone, $39,609 was raised through matched listener pledges.
MVNU Director of Broadcasting Joe Rinehart remarked on the responsibility that comes with such support: "Our commitment is to continue to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ while serving listeners."
