Brian Bäby retrospective exhibit opens at MVNU’s Schnormeier Gallery

Mount Vernon Nazarene University has announced that its Schnormeier Gallery will host the exhibit "Latent Image — Brian Bäby Retrospective" from June 6 to August 1.

According to a press release, the Schnormeier Gallery at Mount Vernon Nazarene University will be open during its regular hours from 1 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additionally, the gallery will hold extended evening hours for First Friday events on June 6, July 3, and August 1, operating from 6 to 9 p.m. on these dates to offer visitors more opportunities to view the exhibit.

The exhibit showcases artist Brian Bäby's exploration of light as a latent or invisible image created on photosensitive material by exposure to light. Through his photography, drawings, and sculptures, Bäby emphasizes light as a central element, using it to define space, reveal texture, and convey mood. The press release encourages viewers to engage more deeply with his work.

Schnormeier Gallery is located at 221 S. Main St., Mount Vernon, on the first floor of Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Buchwald Center. The gallery features a variety of artistic works and offers free admission to the public. It serves as a community space where visitors can engage with different forms of art. For additional details, the gallery can be reached by email at artgallery@mvnu.edu.
