Recently, the Fredericktown FFA Chapter participated in the State Environmental and Natural Resource contest held at the Gwynne Conservation Area during the Farm Science Review in London, Ohio. The competition included five segments: soils analysis, habitat evaluation, GPS location, water analysis, and a presentation on a relevant topic. Each team comprised four members who collaborated to analyze water, soil, ecosystems, habitats, and use GPS for locating points.
The presentation focused on strategies to mitigate algae blooms and educate local farmers on maintaining successful operations concerning this issue. The Fredericktown FFA team achieved 13th place overall in Ohio. Debra Burden serves as the adviser for Fredericktown FFA.
The team members were Lane Dugan, Mason Gearheart, Izzy Broerman, and Allissya Dugan.
