The Ohio Fire Academy will host SWAT medic training exercises from May 5 to May 9, 2025. The exercises are organized by the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal and will involve local law enforcement agencies and fire departments.

These scenario-based trainings aim to prepare SWAT medics for dynamic missions that first responders encounter. Residents in the area are advised not to be alarmed by the increased presence of emergency personnel during this period, as it is part of a drill.

Media representatives can capture b-roll footage on Thursday, May 9, between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Interested media should RSVP to Jarrod Clay at jarrod.clay@com.ohio.gov.

The Division of State Fire Marshal operates under the Ohio Department of Commerce, which serves as Ohio’s chief regulatory agency. It focuses on promoting prosperity and ensuring safety for Ohioans by enforcing laws that help businesses create jobs and maintain safety standards.
