In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Knox County Convention and Visitors Bureau (KCCVB) has launched the Wilderness & Well-being Guide. This initiative aims to encourage both community members and visitors to explore Knox County's green spaces as a means to support mental and emotional well-being. The guide is available for free download on the Visit Knox Ohio website.

"Our 'Wilderness & Well-being Guide' is designed to be a starting point, a gentle nudge to encourage everyone to unplug and reconnect with themselves," said Olivia Toth, Marketing Manager of the KCCVB. "Mental Health Awareness Month provides the perfect opportunity to prioritize our well-being, and we hope this guide makes it easier to do so."

The KCCVB invites individuals to embark on their own wilderness journey throughout May. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences on Instagram by tagging @visitknoxohio and using the hashtag #gowildfeelwellknox for a chance to win prizes at the end of the month.

Additionally, the community is invited to attend an event on June 28 at 10 a.m., marking the opening of the new North Trail System on Yauger Road. This year marks significant anniversaries for local environmental organizations.

"This is a big year for our Park District celebrating 30 years, along with the Brown Family Environmental Center, Philander Chase Conservancy and Owl Creek Conservancy all celebrating 25 years," said Toth. "We are forever grateful to our green partners and dedicated volunteers."
