Prepare for a weekend of pirate-themed activities as the Buckeye Lake Pirate Fest returns from May 16 to 18, 2025. The event promises a range of family-friendly festivities in the tri-county region around Buckeye Lake, Ohio.
For the first time, the festival will extend over three days, allowing more time to enjoy the expanded Pirate Market and other attractions. The market will feature over 100 vendor booths across two locations: Port Royal Market at the Harbor Community Center and North Shore Market nearby. Visitors can shop for pirate, mermaid, and steampunk items among other offerings.
A highlight of the event is the Tri-County Pirate Fest Treasure Hunt, with 40 treasure chests hidden throughout the area. Treasure maps will be available at Port Royal and other locations while supplies last.
Local businesses are joining in with special events and offers. Entertainment on Saturday includes performances by Big Bad Stache, Dirty 403, Shucking Bubba, and Katie and the Red Hots. Themed tours such as pontoon treasure hunts and motorcycle tours will also be available.
Port Royal will serve as the festival headquarters featuring activities for all ages. A kids' area called Pirate Ship Playland will be set up at Port Royal Marketplace. On Sunday, a 'Walk the Plank' Pirate Parade is scheduled to take place along Buckeye Lake dam.
Food and drink vendors will be present at both market locations. Attendees can also participate in themed weddings or explore a haunted attraction called Curse of Pirate Cove at North Shore Market.
The festival supports local community initiatives through fundraising efforts by Harbor Community Center. Media sponsors include Papa Boo’s, Creno’s Pizza, and Roadhouse Cycles.
