Ohio Wesleyan University honors Lydia Luna in 2025 Golden Bishop Awards

Ohio Wesleyan University has announced the recipients of its Golden Bishop Awards, including Lydia Luna from Mount Vernon, who was named Sorority Member of the Year for her involvement in Kappa Alpha Theta. The announcement was made in a press release on April 17, 2025.

According to Merit pages, Lydia Luna is a native of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and a member of Ohio Wesleyan University’s Class of 2025. She is pursuing a double major in zoology and biology with a minor in geography. A graduate of Mount Vernon High School, Luna has consistently achieved academic recognition, including Dean’s List honors for both the spring and fall 2023 semesters. Her recent accolade as Sorority Member of the Year at Ohio Wesleyan’s 2024–2025 Golden Bishop Awards highlights her leadership and involvement as a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.

The university presented various Golden Bishop Awards recognizing student contributions in service, leadership, and campus involvement. These awards included honors for humanitarian work, bridge building, service to children and youth, and residence life leadership. Additional awards acknowledged student courage, organizational impact, new student groups, and leadership development. Recognition was also given for academic excellence within Greek life, student government involvement, and overall senior leadership potential.

"Tonight, we'd like to celebrate you, our students, faculty, and staff," said WCSA President Gabby Gonzalez-Duarte. "Your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed."
