Daniel Lemaster delivered an outstanding performance, throwing a no-hitter and striking out 13 batters to lead Centerburg to a 7-0 victory over Danville in varsity baseball on Friday.
According to the game report, Lemaster was dominant from the start, allowing no hits and no runs over seven innings while walking three. He also contributed offensively, going 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. The Trojans took the lead in the bottom of the second inning when Aiden Trobridge drew a bases-loaded walk to score the first run. Lemaster followed with a two-run double, giving Centerburg a 3-0 advantage.
Vinny Morgan played a key role in the offense from the No. 7 spot in the lineup, finishing 3-for-3. Overall, Centerburg accumulated nine hits as a team. Danville’s Grayson Brokaw took the loss, allowing seven runs on nine hits over 5 1/3 innings while striking out two and walking two.
Centerburg was aggressive on the basepaths with 13 stolen bases. Ricky Faught, Dylan Snow, and Lemaster each recorded multiple steals. Despite turning one double play during the game, Danville struggled to generate offense against Lemaster's sharp outing.
With this win, Centerburg continues to build momentum through its strong pitching and aggressive baserunning strategies.
