MTVarts is set to hold auditions for its summer production of "9 to 5: The Musical" on Saturday, April 12, at warehouse14 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Interested individuals aged 18 and older can register online by visiting the MTVarts website and completing the registration form. Auditions will be conducted in two sessions at 9:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
Callbacks are scheduled for Sunday, April 13, at 12:30 p.m., but only those invited will receive a phone call from the production manager. Attendance at callbacks is mandatory for those being considered for leading roles. Participants should prepare songs relevant to their characters if auditioning for lead roles or perform a short musical selection in the show's style for choral roles. A piano accompanist will be available, and sheet music must be provided as CDs are not allowed. Additionally, auditionees should be ready for a dance call and possible script readings.
The musical will be directed by Bruce Jacklin with music direction by Diane Dingler, choreography by Tony Ingham, and conducted by Dave Schubach. The show features Dolly Parton's music and lyrics with a book by Patricia Resnick. It follows three women tackling workplace inequality through determination and humor.
