MVNU inducts 16 scholars into Alpha Chi National Honor Society

Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) has inducted 16 students into the Ohio Delta Chapter of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society for the 2024-2025 academic year. This society recognizes the top 10% of juniors and seniors across all disciplines.

Membership is by invitation only, extended to traditional undergraduate students who are juniors or seniors, as well as non-traditional undergraduates in MVNU’s Graduate and Professional Studies programs. The inductees have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements.

The students inducted include Cora Andrews from Mount Vernon, Ohio, majoring in Graphic Design; Delaney Brinkman from Lima, Ohio, majoring in Psychology; Cailey Bubis from Delaware, Ohio, majoring in Biology; Samantha Cook from Mount Vernon, Ohio, majoring in Graphic Design; Daniel Daly from Trinidad and Tobago, majoring in Chemistry; Brittany Funches from Coshocton, Ohio, majoring in Social Work; Ashlyn Henderson from Yukon, Oklahoma, majoring in Emergency Management & Homeland Security; Austin Kohler from Mineral City, Ohio, majoring in Accounting; Kristina Moore from Sarahsville, Ohio, majoring in Social Work; Marissa Mowery from Loudonville, Ohio, majoring in Finance; Megan Peck from Walhonding, Ohio, majoring in Psychology; Brianna Rider from Sugarcreek, Ohio, majoring in Speech-Language Pathology; Mary Weisburn from Ostrander, Ohio, majoring in Psychology; Chelsey Wiles and Clayton Zimmerly both from Mount Vernon and Shreve respectively and Joanna Zimmerly also from Shreve all three pursuing Elementary Education/Elementary Intervention P-5.

Eligibility for induction requires at least one year as a full-time student at MVNU with half of the credits required for graduation completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.85 or higher.

Alpha Chi is recognized nationally as a leading honor society and is part of the Association of College Honor Societies. It shares this recognition with Phi Kappa Phi as one of two societies dedicated to acknowledging junior and senior students' academic accomplishments.
