Mount Vernon City Schools has launched an official Facebook page to improve communication and engagement with its community. The initiative aims to provide timely updates and important information for parents, students, staff, and community members.
The district is collaborating with Allerton Hill, a communications firm, to bring its strategic plan to the public. This partnership seeks to strengthen connections and offer insights into the goals and achievements of Mount Vernon City Schools.
While individual school social media sites will continue operating, the new district Facebook page will serve as a central hub. It will combine events and activities from all buildings within the district, allowing families to stay informed about district-wide initiatives while engaging with their local school communities.
The Facebook page will feature announcements on school events, emergency updates, celebrations of achievements, reminders about deadlines, and highlights from across the district's schools.
"We’re excited to provide another way for our community to stay connected with the incredible things happening in our schools," said Bill Seder, Superintendent of Mount Vernon City Schools. "This page will help us communicate more effectively and strengthen the bond between our schools and the community we serve."
To access the page, users can visit any social media hubs on District Websites or search for "Mount Vernon City Schools" on Facebook. Community members are encouraged to engage by liking, sharing, and commenting on posts.
