The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County is partnering with Aspire Ohio and Knox Technical College to offer an adult upskills class, emphasizing emotional intelligence (EI), which experts say is one key to healthy employability.
Unlike IQ, someone's EI can be developed. The class, held on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025 at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, will help participants understand and manage one's own and others' emotions.
As the class introduces the subject of EI, attendees will be given the opportunity to find strategies for improving theirs.
Those interested can register by calling the library at: 740.392.2665 or stopping at the circulation desk to sign up.
The upskills class is free for all adults and will be held in the multipurpose room from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m.
For more information, please call the library's office manager, Lisa Blaisdell, at: 740.392.2665, extension: 8236.
