Jerry Lee DeBoard, 81, of Marengo, Ohio, passed away on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side.
DeBoard was born Dec. 4, 1943, in Mount Vernon, Ohio to Marvin and Mary (Calvert) DeBoard.
He graduated from Butler High School in 1962 and soon went into the Army, where he was stationed in Korea.
DeBoard married Leona Bunker on Oct. 29, 1966; she passed away on Aug. 29, 2013.
For 36 years, DeBoard drove a semi-truck for the Teamsters.
Those close to him said, as a Cleveland Browns fan, he was disappointed this year, but as an Ohio State fan, he was "better pleased."
DeBoard enjoyed westerns, especially spaghetti westerns. He also loved music from the 50s and 60s.
DeBoard will be deeply missed by his children, Brenda (Sherman) O’Bryan, Debbie (Michael) Waulk, and Robert (Nancy) DeBoard; grandchildren Michael, Amber, Brittany, Stefani, Chania, Kaitlynn, and Savannah; his seven great-grandchildren; his sister Jody DeBoard; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers - Jack and James DeBoard - and his sister Janice Moreland.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home in Mount Vernon with Pastor Pam officiating.
Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.
