Juveniles charged for alleged threats against Mount Vernon High students

Two juveniles have been charged in connection with threats against Mount Vernon High School students after the Columbus Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) office investigated the threats and contacted the Mount Vernon Police Department (MVPD).  

According to a Dec. 23 news release from MVPD, the Columbus FBI office provided details about threats directed at several students from Mount Vernon High School. Once informed, MVPD contacted Mount Vernon City School Administration, Police Chief Robert Morgan said in the release.

Detectives investigated the complaint and identified two suspects, who have since been charged in Knox County Juvenile Court. The names of the suspects remain undisclosed due to their status as juveniles.

Morgan further noted that the parents of the victims have been informed and are aware of the threats. School officials are also cognizant of the situation and are taking necessary actions.
