The United Way of Knox County has formed a partnership with Knox County Head Start | Isabel McDonald - United Way of Knox County Ohio, Inc.

The United Way of Knox County is excited to announce that it has reached the halfway point in its campaign to raise $1 million in support of local programs and services.

With $500,000 raised so far, the organization extends its heartfelt gratitude to the many individuals, businesses, and community partners who have already contributed to the campaign.

But with over $900,000 in requests for 2025, the work is far from over.

As part of the ongoing campaign, the United Way is answering a common question: "Why give to the United Way of Knox County?"

Alice Hutzel-Bateson, director of marketing, Public Relations & Development at Knox Community Hospital, shared her perspective: "I chose to support the United Way of Knox County because I know my gift is well utilized, as United Way provides critical support to so many agencies in our community."

The United Way works alongside 18 partner agencies, addressing community issues related to health, education, financial stability, and building resiliency.

Peg Tazewell, executive director of Knox County Head Start, emphasized the importance of the United Way's careful oversight and collaboration with partner organizations: “The United Way application processes ensure that partner organizations are well-vetted and held accountable in regular reporting systems."

She also expressed the vital role that United Way’s funding plays in her head start's programming and gratitude for their partnership.

"Knox County Head Start is proud to partner with the United Way of Knox County and grateful for the critical financial support United Way provides, along with their leadership in guiding us towards a healthier, more connected community," said Tazwell.

The campaign also supports United Way initiatives like Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and All Kids Bike, as well as a community grant program.
