Ronald Lynn Conkle, 72, of Mount Vernon passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on January 24, 1952 in Mount Vernon to the late Ralph Conkle and Alice (Proper) Conkle Frost.
Ron retired from FT Precision and formerly worked for Bob’s Tree Service and Chattanooga Glass. His hobbies included remodeling, woodworking, gardening, and being in the great outdoors. Ron will be remembered for being kind, considerate, gentle and a soft-spoken gentleman. Ron’s greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.
Ron is survived by his wife, Linda (Hall) Conkle whom he married on November 23, 1996; sons, Mike (Jenny) Conkle and Gregg (Dina) Conkle; stepsons, Travis Page and Chris (Brianna) Page; grandsons, Brian Conkle and Carter Page; sisters, Ellen (Terry) Hogue and Pat (Fred) Mossholder; brothers, Robert Conkle and Richard “Rick” (Becky) Conkle; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ronald Frost; a sister, Ruth Armstrong; brother, Henry Edmister; and an aunt, Olive Wise.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Dowds Chapel, 201 Newark Rd., Mount Vernon with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating. Burial will follow in Brandon Cemetery.
