Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) has announced its participation in AWS Academy, an Amazon Web Services program designed to provide higher education institutions with a comprehensive, expert-developed cloud computing curriculum.

According to an MVNU news release, AWS Academy is integrated into MVNU's International Executive Studies program, which began earlier this year. The program will provide international students with F-1 visas and practical, industry-relevant content that addresses real business challenges. The collaboration aims to offer a unique and comprehensive learning experience by combining theoretical knowledge with practical application in cloud computing.

"We have collaborated with AWS to enhance our curriculum at the bachelor’s and master’s level, providing our students with industry-recognized in-demand credentials," said Eric Stetler, Vice President for Graduate and Professional Studies. "What does it mean for our students? Our students will be prepared to communicate and signal to employers their readiness for emerging cloud computing technologies and solutions."

The news release further stated that the offering spans an entire quarter or semester, providing ample time for in-depth exploration. This extended format allows students to delve deeply into cloud computing concepts, mastering both the basics and intricacies of AWS technologies.

Additionally, the MVNU news release highlighted that the AWS Academy program is recognized throughout the IT industry for identifying skilled professionals leading cloud initiatives. The program fits within existing course structures and includes lectures, hands-on labs, knowledge checks, and projects for in-depth learning experiences. Students will be prepared to pursue AWS certifications upon completion.
