On May 27, 2024, Shawn Kirkhart of Delaware, OH lost his four-year battle with colon cancer. He was surrounded by his family and friends. Shawn was a loving husband and devoted father who always enjoyed creating memories for all who knew and loved him.

He was born on Oct. 30, 1966, in Roswell, New Mexico to Roger “Buzz” and Virginia “Ginny” (Faust) Kirkhart. Shawn was a graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School and continued his education at Tiffin University where he played football. He was coached by his father at both schools. In 1998, he started his own appraisal business and along the way, he had added other businesses that he built and was able to successfully sell.

Shawn loved spending time with his wife and kids more than anything. He enjoyed good food, good spirits, and good friends. His hobbies were distilling whiskey, collecting guns and going to rock concerts with his daughter, Adia. He was very inspirational with Manny’s hockey and baseball team, historical re-enacting and coached as a volunteer for Miracle League Baseball.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kay (Comstock) Kirkhart; daughter, Adia; son, Manny; his mother, Virginia; sister, Kelly (John) Cavanagh. Shawn was fortunate to also have the support of his brothers and sisters-in-law, Gus, George (Amy) Comstock, Lynn Comstock, Kim (Mark) Burroughs, and Mary Lou (Randy) Vanhooser.
