Students from Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) were acknowledged in a special panel during an event that celebrated WNZR as the inaugural recipient of the Christian Music Broadcasters University (CMBU) Station of the Year Award.

According to an MVNU press release, "It was important to us to highlight a station, and who better than the station that won our very first CMBU Station of the Year Award. They had the opportunity to share WNZR’s mission and the effect the station has had on the community," said Michelle Younkman, CMB Executive Director. "It was a true highlight of our CMB University event."

The press release also revealed that MVNU seniors Allison Prouty, Mike Basko, and Jonathon Langdon participated in a unique CMBU Award Winner panel interview led by Younkman. The seniors expressed that it was an unparalleled opportunity.

Prouty said, according to the same press release, "We had such an exceptional opportunity to share what God is doing in our community and at WNZR. I had people asking me after the panel about some of the incredible things we do here, and it was a blessing to get to share."

In addition to this, students Morgan Mills, Dylan Elliott and Isaac Curtis attended the conference and seized opportunities offered through CMBU. As per another MVNU press release, students from 14 universities gained insights from industry leaders during comprehensive breakout sessions. They also engaged in a service project where they assembled more than 200 gifts for women in crisis for CUPS Mission.

Mills stated that his experience at CMBU broadened his perspective about future possibilities post-graduation. Elliot noted that he had met diverse individuals and established network connections. He added that he felt privileged to represent MVNU.
