The Northmor basketball team (4-3, 2-0) had a pair of games before the holiday break last week, beating East Knox (0-6, 0-2) before dropping a game against Clear Fork (2-3, 1-2).
On Dec. 22 the Golden Knights beat the Bulldogs 55-46 led by a 16 point showing for Grant Bentley.
In the first quarter the Golden Knights had a 17-8 advantage, and Bentley had seven points that included a shot from downtown. However, East Knox woke up in the second quarter to take a 30-28 lead. Jesse Dudgeon had 11 points in the second quarter for the Bulldogs. Bentley led all scorers with 12 points at the half.
In the third quarter Northmor regained the lead, 44-42, with Merritt scoring eight points including two threes. AJ Bower scored four points for East Knox. They finished with an 11-4 fourth quarter led by five free throws for Cole Cuffman to secure the win.
The Golden Knights were led by Bentley who had two threes in the win, but Bower and Cuffman also had solid nights with seven points apiece. Trevor Brubaker had six points on a pair of threes.
The Bulldogs were led by Poff with 15 points. Merritt and Dudgeon reached double figures with 14 and 11 points respectively.
The Clear Fork Colts got back above .500 with a 66-41 win over the Golden Knights on Dec. 23. The Colts led 15-8 after one quarter and 24-22 at halftime. Clear Fork came out on fire in the second half with a 27-7 third quarter, and finished with a 15-10 advantage.
Bower had 17 points and hit five threes in the game for Northmor. Brubaker had six points on two threes, and Isaac Kincaid scored six points, all in the fourth quarter.
