Fredericktown's Carpenter, Bryant score 23 points in win over Utica

The Fredericktown Freddies (2-1, 0-0) took a 61-50 win over the Utica Redskins (0-4, 0-0) on Nov. 28, led by Cally Carpenter and Mya Bryant who each had 23 points in the victory.

Carpenter played 31 minutes, going 8-for-15 to get her 23 points. She was 3-for-5 from downtown and 4-for-6 from the charity stripe. Carpenter had five boards, five steals, four assists and two blocks.

Bryant was 10-for-16 and 1-for-2 from downtown in 26 minutes. She gathered six boards, had two steals and dished out an assist. Ella Bouton scored eight points and had six assists, five rebounds, six steals and a block. Jill Bouton had six assists, two steals, two points and a block. 

The followed with a tough 70-29 loss to Granville (3-0, 1-0), with Ella Bouton leading the charge with 12 points. Bouton was 2-for-5 from three and had an assist and a steal. Jill Bouton and Carpenter had three assists apiece. Mya Bryant had five boards, two blocks and a steal to go with four points.

Next up for the Freddies is a home conference matchup with Cardington-Lincoln (0-3, 0-0) on Dec. 6 at 6 p.m.
