Cole Delaughder stepped up in a big way for KMAC leading Danville (8-0, 5-0) in a 55-22 win over Centerburg (4-4, 3-2), with the senior running back rushing for four touchdowns to lead the charge. It was the eighth straight win for the undefeated Danville squad.
Danville had a 22-0 lead after one quarter and 38-8 at halftime, and then led 46-14 going into the fourth quarter.
Delaughder had 23 carries for 183 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Walker Weckesser also had a big day, with the senior quarterback rushing for 115 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. He was 5-for-9 for 51 yards in the air. Joshua Byers had two carries for eight yards, and a touchdown. Aidan Burke was the top receiver with two catches for 21 yards.
Caleb Lucas was the defensive leader with 10 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He had three tackles for a loss. Kendall Carter had a half-sack and a tackle. Burke had seven tackles and a fumble recovery for Danville.
On the day, Danville tallied 363 yards on 31 carries. Delaughder leads the KMAC in rushing this season with 1,039 yards.
Centerburg was led by Jesse Rings who was 9-for-22 for 89 yards and two passing touchdowns. He also ran the ball 19 times for 77 yards and a touchdown. Trevin Harris had four catches for 56 yards with a pair of scores. Isaiah Sule caught four passes for 19 yards. CamAlloway led the defense with nine tackles.
The win for Danville snapped a three game winning streak for the Trojans.
