Knox County had 178 mortgages recorded in July, a slight drop compared to June but still higher than five months in 2023.
The total value of mortgages at the end of July was $52,413,585, which was almost $1.1 million lower than in June, according to Knox County Recorder Tanner Salyers’ office.
Year-to-date, funds released from the Ohio Housing Trust Fund (OHTF) totaled $158,829 at the end of July, with $23,402 added in July. The OHTF is a flexible state funding source that provides affordable housing opportunities, expands housing services, and improves housing conditions for low-income Ohioans and families, according to the Ohio Department of Development.
The county office recorded 731 total documents in July, with 603 of them filed as paper documents and another 128 filed electronically.
Those records included 196 deeds, 178 mortgages, 160 mortgage releases and 2 DD-214s. A DD-214 form is a Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty from military service.
Year-to-date, the Recorder’s Office has processed 5,017 documents. So far 555 people have subscribed to the iNotify system, the free property alert notification system.
