The Ohio Blue Ribbon Arson Committee (BRAC) is offering a $5,000 reward for information about a house fire at 33 Center St. in Tremont City after investigators ruled it was caused by arson, WDTN reported.

"On Saturday, Aug. 12, at approximately 6:12 p.m., the German Township Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at 33 Center St., in Tremont City," the news story said. "Investigators with the Fire & Explosion Investigation Bureau confirmed the house was vacant, canvassed the neighborhood, conducted witness interviews, reviewed video footage, and have ruled the fire arson in their ongoing investigation."

The Division of State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigation Bureau has ruled the fire arson.

BRAC was developed in 1973 to assist investigators in the state of Ohio. In 1978, BRAC started the Reward Fund, which offers financial incentives for information that leads to convictions involving the crime of arson.
