ZANESVILLE – Muskingum Valley Council, Troop 4324, has concluded their remarkable journey at the Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree with resounding success and cherished memories.

Throughout the ten-day adventure at The Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia, Troop 4324 demonstrated unwavering enthusiasm, camaraderie and dedication to scouting values.

From July 19 to July 28, 2023, Troop 4324 embarked on an unforgettable experience at the Jamboree, embracing a wide array of activities that tested their physical capabilities, expanded their knowledge and forged lifelong friendships.

Under the inspiring leadership of Senior Patrol Leader Matthew C. and the guidance of Scoutmaster Zechariah Bauer, the scouts emerged as a united and cohesive team, exemplifying the true spirit of scouting.

Scoutmaster Zechariah Bauer, filled with pride and admiration for Troop 4324, stated, "Last night's Base Camp Bash was attended by all of our troop, and they had a blast. We are ready to keep the fun going." Indeed, the spirit of unity and enthusiasm displayed by the troop has been nothing short of infectious, making every moment at the Jamboree an unforgettable experience.

The Jamboree provided Troop 4324 with the opportunity to participate in time-honored traditions such as Patch Trading and Hat Pin Swapping, connecting with scouts from various troops across the nation. These cherished traditions served as tangible reminders of the meaningful friendships and camaraderie they cultivated during their time at the Jamboree.

The scouts of Troop 4324 embraced challenges with enthusiasm, earning the prestigious Jamboree NOVA award and engaging in various STEM-related activities. They delved into the realms of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, gaining a deeper understanding of the world around them and fostering a passion for learning.

The culmination of their Jamboree experience was marked by an exhilarating trip down the New River, where they navigated rapids and faced thrilling moments together. This adventure served to strengthen their bond as a tightly-knit team, creating lasting memories that will resonate with them for years to come.

Senior Patrol Leader Matthew C. eloquently captured the essence of their journey, stating, "I feel this Jambo unit came here as strangers and are leaving as some of the best friends that I have ever met. I hope that each one of them achieves great things in their scouting and life career, and I have no problem coming up to any of these great young men and helping them out with anything that they need as an SPL. They were just the troop that I was hoping for and more."

The Muskingum Valley Council extends its heartfelt congratulations to Senior Patrol Leader Matthew C., Scoutmaster Zechariah Bauer, and every scout of Troop 4324 for their exceptional performance and representation at the Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree.
