MOUNT VERNON – Viva A. Zeigler, 85, of Mount Vernon, passed away on July 3, 2023, at her home surrounded by family.
She was born on May 31, 1938, in Gambier, and was the daughter of the late E. Dean and Mabel L. (Fawcett) Billman.
Viva was a longtime member of the Salvation Army Church and the Home League Ladies Fellowship Club at the Salvation Army. She was a former 4-H Advisor and a member of the Sew and Hope Garden Club, along with numerous other local garden clubs.
She enjoyed sharing a good meal with others, and always kept the door open for everyone. Viva was a classy, loving woman and a mother with good hair!
Viva is survived by her daughters, Lisa Poole of Akron and Dana Zeigler of Mount Vernon; a brother, Burl (Martha) Billman of Gambier; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five adopted great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Neil, Gail, Roger and Darwin Billman, along with a sister, Mary Billman.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Salvation Army Church where funeral services will follow at noon with Capt. Christine Moretz officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery, 7740 Grove Church Rd., Gambier, OH 43022.
The Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel is handling the services for the Zeigler family.
