Thursday, July 6, at 5 p.m. All Together Now Summer Reading Program & Teen Movie & Pizza Night: Watch a movie with us and enjoy pizza too. The movie is Dungeons & Dragons: Honor a.m. ong Thieves (2023) and is rated PG13. Registration is required by Wednesday, July 5. Call or stop by the library to save your spot.
Friday, July 7, at 11 a.m. Recipe Exchange: Prepare your favorite pie, whether it be fruit, vegetable or meat. Remember to bring the recipe too. We invite and encourage guests to join us and be taste testers (no experience required). No need to bring a dish; just come join us for good food and conversation. We always have plenty of food to share and you might find a new recipe you like. Table service and drinks provided.
Monday, July 10, at 7 p.m. Electronics Recycling Day: Last day to bring recyclable items to the library for pickup by Accurate IT Services of Columbus. Please check with the library for a full list of acceptable materials.
Tuesday, July 11, at 5:30 p.m. All Together Now Summer Reading & Teen Crafting: Join us and make your own DIY craft. This month’s craft is Kindness Rocks. Registration is required. Please call or stop by the library to reserve your spot. All materials are provided.
Wednesday, July 12, 10 a.m. All Together Now Summer Reading Program: Join us and the Homer Fire Department and have the chance to touch a firetruck.
Thursday, July 13 and July 27, at 5 p.m. Ukulele Association of Homer: This is a time for fellow ukulele players to meet for ukulele practice and to share their enthusiasm for this unique instrument in an informal setting. There will be an experienced ukulele player in attendance to offer lessons. The library has ukuleles for lending; all ages are welcome to attend.
Friday, July 14, at 10 p.m. Brunch and a Movie: Join us and watch “The Fablemans” (2022). Growing up in post-World War II era Arizona, young Sammy Fabelman aspires to become a filmmaker as he reaches adolescence but soon discovers a shattering family secret and explores how the power of films can help him see the truth. This movie is rated PG. Please call the library to reserve your seat by July 13.
Tuesday, July 18, at 5:30 p.m. All Together Now Summer Reading Program & Teen Painting: Create a disaster of an art piece with our art supplies. All creations will go into the bad art exhibition, and the “best” bad art will win the big bad art trophy.
Wednesday, July 19, at 10 a.m. All Together Now Summer Reading Program: All ages are welcome to join us for the final summer reading program. Our local and favorite musician, Mary Miller, will share in song with us. This is fun for the whole family, and refreshments will also be served after the program.
Wednesday, July 26, at 2 p.m. Crafting: Make a simple wreath using plastic tablecloths. Please call the library to register for this event.
Friday, July 28, at 2 p.m. Homer Historical Society: Come join us for an informal discussion of local history.
