BLADENSBURG – A funeral service for Kathy “Kat” L. Stafford, 60 of Utica, will be held at the Bladensburg Church of Christ located at 3817 McLarnan Rd. in Bladensburg, Ohio on Friday, June 23, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating.
Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, at the Bladensburg Church of Christ.
Kathy was born on March 14, 1963, in Mount Vernon to the late Kenneth and Charlien (Anderson) Beightol. Kathy unexpectedly passed away on June 17, 2023, at her residence.
Kathy was a loving wife, mother, nana and friend. She was a strong-willed, free-spirited, fun-loving hippie. The simplest pleasures of life brought great joy to Kathy. She loved riding her motorcycle, which she named Grace, she loved to go kayaking, camping and sitting around a fire with all her closest friends and family. She loved to crochet and had a newfound love of creating diamond art.
Kathy was a retired employee from the Mount Vernon Developmental Center where she dedicated over 30 years of her life to. She was a proud member of the AmVets Auxiliary and the Rider’s Club. She also took great pride in dedicating her time and support to the Buckhaven Learning Center.
She is survived by her sons, Kenny (Jen) Stafford of Mount Vernon, Chris (Amber) Stafford of Utica; daughter, Katelyn (Nicole) Stafford of Utica; grandchildren, Sabriel, Dakota, Kylee and Charlie Stafford; sisters, Vicki (Robert) Newton and Bonnie Beightol; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barb (Rick) Lanthorn, Nancy (Tony) Diaz, Bob (Jamie) Stafford and Brian (Amy) Stafford and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Stafford.
