ASHLAND – The board of directors of The Elinor & T.W. Miller, Jr. Foundation, Orlando, Florida has approved a grant in the amount of $10,000 in support of Hospice of North Central Ohio’s “Camp Hope” children’s bereavement camp.
HNCO established “Camp Hope” in 1996 in response to a growing need to provide grieving children who have lost a loved one through death with a safe and supportive environment in which to heal and tell their story. The primary objective of the camp is to help children realize that they are not alone in their grief, that death is a natural part of life and that grief is a natural response to that loss. This year’s “Camp Hope” took place on June 16, 17, 23 and 24 at Pleasant Hill Outdoor Camp.
“This grant is particularly gratifying because it not only supports a very important core mission program, but it perpetuates the memory of two individuals who made a significant impact on the lives of so many people in this community,” Ralph Tomassi, HNCO chief development officer/senior administrator, said.
The Elinor & T.W. Miller, Jr. Foundation, established in 2004, continues to be dedicated to the causes Bill and Elinor loved most: Education, health care, athleticism, spiritual health and community engagement.
The Miller Foundation board continues to follow the Miller family leadership, honoring their vision and legacy through a commitment to serving the people and institutions of Winter Park, Florida and Ashland, Ohio.
