Linda Marshall Krakoff shines in this Historic Photo from our files, which ran in the May 13 edition. Her husband, David Krakoff, wrote:

"The beautiful woman in the photo was my late wife, Linda Marshall Krakoff. She passed away in 2002. Linda was the daughter of longtime Mount Vernon residents Shirley and Darien Marshall, who lived on Burgess Street. Linda graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1967. She was a professional model, voice and on-camera talent and she worked all over the U.S. After leaving Mount Vernon, we lived in Columbus and eventually in the Atlanta area. She would have gotten a kick out of seeing her photo as the lead for a 'historic Mount Vernon' photo. Linda has three children, John M. Marshall (Krakoff), Ryan Fair and Whitney Fair, who all attended school in Mount Vernon. They still have many friends there and visit frequently. John lives in the Cleveland area, Ryan lives in Medina, and Whitney lives in the Atlanta area." 

Her daughter, Whitney Randall, offered that this photo was from the '80s, likely between 1984 and 1986, and that she remembered that specific outfit and may have been nearby when the photo was snapped. Randall shared fond memories of growing up on Park Street and even visiting her mom at work when she briefly worked for the Mount Vernon News.
