ZANESVILLE – The Zanesville Civil War Roundtable will meet Monday, March 27, at 7 p.m. at the Stone Academy Museum, located at 115 Jefferson St. in Zanesville.

Author and historian David Mowery will present a program called "Camp Dennison: Ohio's Largest Civil War Camp."

Camp Dennison was established in April 1861, 16 miles from Cincinnati around the small village of Germany, Ohio. Camp Dennison was the first taste of war for many young men from the Midwest, and so it lived on within the hearts and memories of those who survived the great American conflict. Mowery will present the history of Ohio's largest Civil War camp through a visual comparison of the past with the present.

The Zanesville Civil War Roundtable operates on donations alone, and is open to anyone with an interest in the American Civil War.
