MOUNT VERNON – Lee E. Allen, 95, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 10, 1927, in Knox County and was the son of the late Cary and Allie (McKee) Allen.
Lee was a United States Navy veteran and a longtime farmer.
He is survived by three sons, Denny (Karen) Allen, Glenn (Joanna) Allen and Brad Allen; four daughters, Diana Trammell, Jody (Joe) Adams, Brenda (Gary) Mahn and Mary (Conrad) Doak; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy in 2003; three grandsons, Chad, Caleb and Joshua Allen, and a sister, Lucille Freshman.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 5-8 p.m. at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Otto officiating. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery.
