MOUNT VERNON – Barbara Ann Earlywine, 86, of Mount Vernon, went home to her Lord and Savior on Jan. 24, 2023. She was born on July 7, 1936, in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Frank and Katherine (Darr) Phillips.

Barbara graduated from Zanesville High School in 1954. Growing up, she was very active at North Terrace Church of Christ, playing the piano and calling on others with her youth group. Barbara went to Johnson Bible College in Tennessee for a short time, but due to illness had to return home. After returning home she met her husband, John, at Bladensburg Church of Christ in the fall of 1955. They were married March 31, 1957. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading, especially the Bible, and spending time with family. She learned to play the piano at a young age and was a wonderful pianist. She played at church and was a piano teacher for many years. She was a member and faithfully served at Victory Church of Christ.

Barbara is survived by her four children, John Philip Earlywine, David (Carla) Earlywine, Lisa (Gary) Gray and Kathy (Shane) Fields, 10 grandchildren, Ryan (Erin) Hayhow, Hannah and Lily Earlywine, Cheris and Abree Gray, Amber (Kristopher) Duer, Trevor, Katie, Kara and Travis Fields, three great-grandchildren Mya, Cori and Nico, and brother Robert (Dorothy) Phillips.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, John Earlywine and grandson, Tyler Fields.

A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. at the Victory Church of Christ, 12470 Upper Fredericktown Rd., Mount Vernon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Victory Church of Christ.

The Snyder Funeral Home - Lasater Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
